The “Circle of Life” Continues at Abacus Jasper’s Restaurant Group

February has been a month filled with celebrations and remembrances for our Jasper’s and Abacus work family. Please join us on Facebook to share your own personal notes of congratulations and condolences with these special families.

New Additions

On February 3rd Abacus Executive Chef Chris Patrick and his wife Laura welcomed a healthy baby boy.  The adorable Finley Graham Patrick weighed in at 9lbs 9oz. Chris, Laura and big sister Camilla are all doing great!

Dylan D’Almeida, Assistant General Manager of Jasper’s The Woodlands welcomed his adorable first child, a 8.5lb baby girl on February 12th. The gorgeous Josephine Violet D’Almeida is healthy and the rest of her family is settling in to their new way of life.


Just a few days after the birth his son, Abacus Executive Chef Chris Patrick  lost his Father Robert Louis Patrick (February 18, 1944 – February 7, 2017). Please keep Chris and his entire family in your prayers.

We’re also paying tribute to the late father-in-law of Jasper’s General Manager Brian Kurtz.  Donald Nathaniel Blue unexpectedly passed away on February 9th. We appreciate you keeping Brian and his wife Natalie in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.




March 14th, 2017

We are excited and pleased to announce that Ruben Campos will assume the position and authority of Chef at Jasper’s The Woodlands effective 16 March. Ruben is a long term member of our team but also with tenure at Carrabba’s and Ruth’s Chris Steak House.  Ruben has worked in all our Concepts except Abacus from both the front and back of the house.  His experience, tenure and leadership certainly merit this assignment so please join me in congratulating Ruben and wishing him well in this new role.

Ruben with replace Dustin Putska who has made the decision to return to his beloved Austin to be closer to his family and pursue new opportunities there.  Dustin will not be leaving us immediately as he will be working with the home office team to verify Jasper’s recipes, continuity of plate presentation, certification of wine dinner protocol and overall strengthening of our culinary prowess.

Her passion for food started at an early age and she immediately started in the business as soon as she was of working age!
